Intermediate Championship Quarter Final

Bornacoola 0-8 Annaduff 1-17

Bornacoola completed their championship campaign on Sunday morning last when neighbours and intermediate championship favourites Annaduff proved too strong in a quarter final played in heavy conditions in Cloone.

The first half hinted at a close game, but the loss of Damian Moran to injury had a significant impact on the game from a Bornacoola perspective.

At the break the Bors only trailed by 3 points, 0-7 to 0-4, but Annaduff started the second half with three unanswered points and when a Bornacoola move up the field was intercepted it led to the crucial score of the game – a well work Annaduff goal that essentially sealed their victory on a final scoreline of 1-17 to 0-8. However it has been a decent year at this level for Bornacoola, one of consolidation and we’ll look forward to next year with renewed optimism.

Well done to all of the players who displayed great commitment throughout the year and to Seamus Mallon and his management team for their work. Finally a big thank you in particular to Joe Geelan for all the work he has carried out quietly in the background.

Team on Sunday was Danny Farrell, Kevin Mulligan, David Mulligan, Damian Mc Guinness, Brian Duffy, Jason Conroy, Mervyn Howard, Damian Moran, Liam Jones, Anthony Mulligan, Conor Mc Cauley, Ollie Vaughan, Ronan Mulligan, Cian Mallon (0-1), Sean Mc Keon (0-7). Subs were Allan Croghan, Michael Duignan, Sean O Riordan, Robert O Beirne, Gearoid Mulligan, Brian Conroy Conor Hackett and Liam Mulligan.
