Spring League

Our Junior team got their season underway on Saturday when they faced Aughavas in Dromod. The Bors led at half time thanks to a Cian Mallon penalty and it was an evenly contested game until early in the second half when an injury to Mervyn Howard (from which he has subsequently recovered) led to a delay in proceedings. This seemed to upset the Bornacoola momentum and Aughavas upped their game to finish very strongly and record a 5-10 to 1-9 victory. Team on duty was Danny Farrell, Kevin Mulligan, Jack Gannon, Sean Ryan, Ollie Vaughan, Anthony Mulligan, Mervyn Howard, Jake Shiels, Josh Mc Cormack, Sean Mc Keon, Sean O Riordan, Sean Muldowney, Ronan Mulligan, Cian Mallon and Jonathan Boyle. Subs used were Conor Mc Cauley, Gearoid Mulligan.

Green Club

This work will continue through April and will culminate in 4 specific actions items been agreed in two different thematic areas. There are five thematic areas which are Water, Waste, Transport, Energy and Biodiversity. In late April or early May we will be ready for our full club launch of Phase 2 of our Green Clubs programme. Further updates on the launch to follow.During February the Green Club Committee submitted a detailed application to Leitrim County Council for funding for solar panels, LED lighting and a number of bike rakes. The application was made through the Community Climate Action Programme and a decision on our application is due in July 2024.All of our 100 free native tree saplings have now been given out to club members.
